Description: Auschwitz Birkenau II concentration camp. At this stage in the history of the camp, in the final months of the war, it is now known that the number of people being killed was so high that the crematoria were unable to burn all the corpses. This image graphically records the murder of the Hungarian Jewry, many of whose bodies were burnt in open pits by the Sonderkommando.
