Four million images now searchable

A new release of 1,132 finding aids means that over 4,342,000 not-yet-digitised historical aerial photographs can now be located on the NCAP website. Our finding aids record the coverage of aerial photographic missions flown around the world during and after the Second World War.

NCAP holds over 7 million catalogued aerial photographs of Western Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. With a website subscription, researchers can now search for over 4 million of these from their homes and offices around the world.

More finding aids will be digitised and released in June. To see what has been made accessible so far, Browse by Map to your area of interest and click on 'See finding aids in this area'.
